Beefstew Recipies
- Heat 15ml (.51 fl oz) oil in a pot.
- Fry 750g (1.7 lb) beef until brown.
- 1 Chopped onion.
- 1 Slice green pepper.
- 4 Chopped carrots.
- Add a pinch of salt and pepper.
Directions:
Fry for 5 minutes.
Add one chopped tomato, 500ml (17 floz)water, 3 table spoons Knorr Tasty oxtail 7 vegetable soup with Rajah Curry Powder and ¾ cup lentils. Add 2 Chopped sweet potatoes, cover and simmer for 30 minutes until the sweet potatoes are cooked.
Season the way you like it.
- 600ml (20.3 oz) Beef stock.
- 450g (.992 lb) Lean stewing steak.
- 100g (.220 lb) Mushrooms, sliced.
- 100g (.220 lb) Green beans, sliced.
- 25g (0.06 lb) Cake flour.
- 3 Tablespoons vegetable oil.
- 2 Onion, peeled and chopped.
- 2 Cloves garlic, finely chopped.
- 2 Large carrots, sliced.
- 2 Potatoes, sliced.
- 1 Tablespoon tomato purée.
- 1 Tablespoon cornflour.
- ½ Cup fresh milk.
- ¼ Teaspoon salt.
- Pinch of black pepper to taste.
Method:
Trim the steak and cut into bite-sized pieces. Season the flour with salt and pepper. Heat 2 tablespoons oil in a large saucepan or flame proof pan. Put the meat in the flour. Add the meat in batches and fry until sealed on all sides. Heat the remaining oil in a frying pan. Add the onions and sauté gently for 3 to 4 minutes.
Stir in the garlic and fry for a further 2 minutes. Add onions, garlic, mushrooms, tomato purée, carrots, beans, potatoes and stock to meat. Bring to the boil. Reduce the heat and cover with a tight-fitting lid. Simmer gently for 1 ¼ hours, or until meat is tender. Add the ½ cup of milk.
Blend cornflour with 1 tablespoon water. Stir into stew and cook for 1 minute.
